ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the concept of evidence-based practice and how this affects the community nurse practising in an environment increasingly influenced by governmental policies seeking efficiency and effectiveness, and the evidence-based movement with increasingly highlighted as the way forward for all healthcare professions. The term 'community nurses' in this chapter covers all disciplines of qualified nurses and health visitors who work in a community setting.
