ABSTRACT

This involves eliciting at least two pieces of information usually from the history or mental state examination. The questions will depend on the diagnosis. It includes taking a piece of history, premorbid personality, forensic history, past psychiatric history, alcohol and drug history, insight, suicide risk, mood, first rank symptoms, manic symptoms, obsessive compulsive symptoms, a range of anxiety symptoms, cognitive functions including frontal lobe functions, judgement, general knowledge, etc.
