connected set of pixels usually corresponding to a physical object in the scene represented by the image.
objective contrast (film) Optical density. oblique incidence (us) Sound direction not per-
pendicular to transducer boundaries. oblique slice (imaging) Obtained by rotating
an orthogonal slice (sagittal, coronal or axial) about a coordinate axis in the slice plane (see orthogonal slice).
