ABSTRACT
These are drugs used artificially to support a failing or dysfunctional cardiovascular system. Via their actions on various receptors, they affect either heart rate or force of contraction, or alter systemic vascular resistance. Effects are predominantly mediated by either -, 1-or 2-receptors.
