ABSTRACT
Clinical trials can be prospective or retrospective with the latter having a higher statistical power than the former.
• Usually retrospective but can be prospective • Observational investigation where a group of individuals with a specific disease
or characteristic are followed over a period of time to detect complications or new events
• Comparisons may be made with a control group • No interventions are normally applied to the participants.
