ABSTRACT
The System of International Units (SI units) is a metric system that was developed to facilitate standardization between disciplines and between countries. SI units are divided into fundamental or base units and derived units. There are seven fundamental units: time, length, mass, temperature, number of atoms or molecules, light intensity, and electric current. Examples of fundamental and derived units are given in Tables 3.1 and 3.2.
