Task: You are requested to administer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) to Mr X, who has consented to the procedure.
● Greet and introduce yourself. ● Obtain permission before you proceed. ● Check that it is the correct ‘patient’ and confirm the identity of the patient. ● Check documentation to see that the patient has consented and the ECT
consent form has been duly signed, or if on a section of the Mental Health Act, the appropriate forms have been filled in.
