ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The aim of this chapter is to discuss the role of the ‘adult nurse’ within health care and their contribution to the health of adult patients. Links with health studies and the other three branches of nursing and the range of placements where students of adult nursing may gain experience will be explored. Some key nursing activities that may be experienced by an adult patient will also be discussed.
