ABSTRACT

First, basic application of chaos theory concerns control of irregular behaviors in devices and systems. The list of applications includes but not limited to: engineering, computers, communications, medicine and biology, management and fi nance, consumer electronics, ...etc. The potential application types of chaos are: control, synthesis, synchronization and information processing. For more details one can see for example [Lozi (2002)]. On the other hand, the Lozi mappings are in some cases the main examples for demonstrating the validity and the correctness of several methods and algorithms related with chaos theory, dynamical systems and their real-world applications. In this chapter, we give only some applications related to the Lozi mappings. Indeed, in Sections 5.1, 5.2 we discuss the utilization of these maps in control and synchronization theories. In Section 5.3 an example of the application of a Lozi map in secure multiple access communications. Section 5.4 shows some relations between game theory and chaotic behaviors. In Section 5.5, we describe the use of Lozi mappings in evolutionary algorithms with one example. In Section 5.6 the Fuzzy modeling of an experimental thermal-vacuum system and its relation with the Lozi map (3.1) is presented and discussed.
