ABSTRACT
There is a high incidence of substance abuse in the juvenile offender population. Teenagers may be arrested when getting drugs, using drugs, transporting drugs, or selling drugs. Many antisocial behaviors (i.e., shoplifting, stealing, or prostitution) are carried out in order to obtain money for the purchase of alcohol and/or drugs. Violent crimes often are committed in relation to drug trafficking.
