ABSTRACT
Arterial catheterisation or puncture may cause bleeding, occlusion or stenosis due to thromboembolism or intimal injury, arteriovenous fistula, pseudoaneurysm, arterial wall dissection, and on occasion a foreign body may be left in the arterial system. Toxic injury or allergic reaction caused by contrast media will not be discussed here neither will we review infectious complications.
