ABSTRACT

It is customary to show a new chef some respect in the form of allowing them to make a few purchases to help make the galley their own. For a while, in the early to mid-2000s, yachts and estates were trading hands at a feverish pace. If the boss bought one and used it for six months to a year, it could be sold for more than they paid. Essentially, they were getting paid to use it. When a yacht or estate sells, the outgoing owner usually takes everything with them or distributes some of the equipment among their assets and staff. The new owner usually starts from scratch. Whoever is the first person using the kitchen gets to buy the equipment.
