ABSTRACT
Sedimentary deposits in the Czech Republic currently provide a signifi cant proportion of global coal and industrial minerals extraction. The resources extracted specifi cally include kaolin (10.3% of world production), brown coal (4.2%), feldspar (2.0%), diatomite (1.8%), quartz sands (1.3%), bentonite (1.4%), and ceramic clays (Starý et al. 2011).
