ABSTRACT

Over the past two decades, studies on the heavily glycosylated membrane proteins of rat and mouse leukocytes have demonstrated several differentiation antigens unique to these cells [1-3]. One, designated L-C (leukocyte common), was found to be present on all T cells, B cells, thyrnocytes, granulocytes, and monocytes [1,2]. This determinant actually represented a family of glycoproteins, with molecular weights of 150-200 kilodaltons (kD).
