ABSTRACT
Cooperative phenomena and synergistic functions in biological systems help to maintain and change pH, ion and molecule concentration, and other factors and also shift equilibria among biologically active chemical species.1 Such angstrom-and nano-scale chemical events induce subsequent chemical reactions and/or structural changes within biological molecules and molecular assemblies such as proteins, DNA, cells, textures, and even organs.
