In 2004-2006, “Made in China” was thriving at its peak, with global orders ooding into China. China’s cheap labor costs stimulated the development of export-oriented and labor-intensive enterprises, and many entrepreneurs who had been counting on this trend to continue were caught unprepared when the 2008 Global Financial Crisis broke out.
