Tea is made from the young leaf of the plant Camellia sinensis and serves as a nonalcoholic beverage globally. The tea industry generates employment in more than 52 countries, especially in Asia and Africa. A few of its wild genera such as C. japonica and C. oleracea are also important for their beautiful ornamental owers and oil-bearing capability.
