Unit 6 Machine dynamics

Machines consist of rigid bodies connected together in such a way that some components are fixed while others are moving. Dynamics provides the Mechanical Engineer with the basic tools necessary to analyse machines, and involves studying the motion of rigid bodies. The subject of dynamics involves two distinct studies: i) the geometric properties of motion, known as kinematics, and (ii) the relationship between the applied forces and the resulting motion, known as kinetics.
