ABSTRACT
I. INTRODUCTION The diagnostic evaluation of the female patient requires the art of focused interviewing and active listening. It is a process of taking what may appear to be myriad seemingly unrelated complaints and focusing on one or two problems from which all complaints seem to stem. It is not an easy process. It requires patience, understanding, empathy, and time.
