ABSTRACT
Marrow graft failure is a serious complication of stem-cell transplantation. Approximately 10% of patients who undergo either autologous or allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) fail to reconstitute or develop late he matopoietic failure. The survival rate of patients who develop graft failure is less than 20%. Mortality is generally related to infection as opposed to recur rent disease, which is the leading course of death in patients who undergo transplantation and have normal hematopoietic recovery.
