ABSTRACT
Content-based routing has become an active research area. In this chapter we consider content-centric routing and examine a number of protocols and algorithms. Special emphasis is placed on distributed publish/subscribe (pub/sub), in which content is targeted to active subscribers. A content-based router is part of an overlay structure in which each router forwards events to neighboring routers and local clients based on their interests.
