ABSTRACT
Disks and slabs with constant thickness are structural members bounded by two parallel planes having a distance, the thickness, which is small compared with the other dimensions. Furthermore, disks are loaded by forces statically equivalent to a plane force system in the middle plane of the disk, while slabs are loaded perpendicular to the middle plane. The stress eld in disks is approximately a plane stress eld.
