ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a summary of relevant A A C properties such as density, mechanical properties, volume changes, thermal and hygral properties, durability, and questions related to the reinforcement. The selection of subjects and the form in which they are presented was influenced by their utility in the design of A A C block masonry and structural elements. More detailed material on the properties of A A C is available in the literature (see, for instance, the extensive reference list in [3.1] and [3.2]).
