ABSTRACT
There are other similar processes which concentrate on concept models and l i te ra ly provide 3 D p r i n t i n g . They p r i n t 3-dimensional C A D models . T h e drop-on-demand je t technology is offered by Sanders Prototype Inc. (SPI M o d e l M a k e r I I system). Basically, i t employs a plot ter w i t h dual drop-on-de mand je t systems traversing over a precision elevator table on which the lay ered model is constructed. I t also incorporates a horizontal mi l l i ng cutter that travels on the same plot ter carriage as the dual plot assembly and maintains the required layer thickness. The dual je t system allows the use o f two mate rials —thermoplastic material P r o t o B u i l d ™ for the part and the second, a fatty-ester-wax P r o t o S u p p o r t ™ for support structure, i f required.
