of radical leaves. Rhizome slender, without dense root fibrils, issuing 2 or 3 stems. Stems generally singly, slender, long, similar (in summer and autumn) to runners, rooting with tip. Cauline leaves petiolate, tender, cordate base and sharp tip. Inflorescence highly elongated. Fruit stems long, filiform, nutant. Calyx about 5 mm long, somewhat pubescent with appressed hairs, calyx teeth oblong-lanceolate, sharp. Corolla blue, comparatively large; tubes short; limb flat; lobes of limb oval, orbicular-obtuse; arches large, bilobate at tip, papillate. Nutlets about 2 mm long, ovate-tetrahedral, glabrous, puberulent, black, with dorsal areola almost fringed, sharp.
