ABSTRACT

This volume of Plants of Central Asia treats only 3 families, i.e. Araliaceae (2 genera and 4 species), Umbelliferae (56 genera and 189 spe­ cies), Cornaceae (one genus and 3 species), totaling 59 genera and 196 species. The synopsis additionally contains 2 species of Umbelliferae and 5 species of Araliaceae that are found in the adjoining region. Another 75 species of Umbelliferae inhabit Kirghizia, Kazakhstan, and Eastern Pamir falling in the former Soviet part of Central Asia; thus, these families com­ prise a total of 271 species.
