ABSTRACT

Abstract: A 700 MW coal-fired power plant located nearby a dense residential area of the city of Kobe has adoptcd an acoustical abnonnality monitoring system to detect any abnormality of the total plant machinery round thc clock to guarantee a stable operation by implementing a preventive maintenance sySklll without any experienccd engineer. To ensure reliable, 2417 monitoring of plant equiplllents so as to detect predictive signs of malfunction prior to any failure, a distributed sound monitoring system is installed. Any sign of suspecting abnormal operation is detected, the system immediately notifies staff so that timely preventative maintenance can be perfonned, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
