ABSTRACT

Pneumatic conveyance of particulate materials is an important technique widely uscd in many industries. In order for pneumatic conveying systems to deliver all of their potential benefits it is essential to know the parameters of the flow. Much research work has been carried out in the field of particulate flow metering [1] and many tcchniques have been developed, ranging from gamma rays to optical attenuation [2]. Instruments bascd on these techniques are designed to measure various tlow parameters but few of them can measure absolute mass flow rate of particles and particle size distribution online [2, 3].
