ABSTRACT
Abstract:AsecondgenerationofEPCDI(ElectrostaticPowderCoatingDiagnostic Instrument)basedonPCcontrolhasbeendesignedattheUniversityofDundeeto analysetheelectrostaticpowdercoatingdepositionefficiencybymeasuringthepowder adhesionpropertiesintheprecuredstate.Thefirstgenerationinstrumentoperates withaBBCcomputerusingan8bitADC.InterfacingthissystemtoaPCwillhave severalshortcomingsinthehardwareandsoftware.Thesecondgenerationrunsunderthe PentiumPCcontrol,with12bitADCcardmountedwithinthePC.Thereareseveral advantagesinthehardwareandsoftware.Theseinclude:-
•Theinstrumentincorporatesanimprovedpressureregulatorthatisusedtocontroltheair pressure.
