ABSTRACT
Soil erosion is the phenomenon of removal of material from the soil surface. If this occurs by water, it is known as water erosion; if by wind, as aeolian erosion. Erosion by water covers different types, such as coastal erosion, river erosion or that which is due to civil engineering activities. This chapter deals only with pluvial erosion, by far the most important in a rural zone with temperate climate.
