ABSTRACT
Two major aspects of the environment must be considered: the nonbiological environment, which constitutes the biotope, at various scales, and the biological environment, consisting of other plants and animals, which will yield plant-plant interactions and plant-animal interactions. In this section, the biotope will be discussed, along with the major kinds of animal communities according to their typical interactions with plants.
