ABSTRACT
The conclusion is therefore, that the design of contaiments is closely connected with fabrication (tolerances for imperfections) and the additional measures of maintenance (inspection). Adequate classification due to imperfections might reduce the costs for fabrication, adequate measures of inspection migth reduce the safety factors for cyclic plastification, fatigue and leakage and in consequence will save material (wall thickness) and fabrication costs.
