Abstract The apparent increased brittleness of high strength concretes can be significantly reduced by the use of fibre reinforcement. However, considering their high performance characteristics, comparatively little work has been carried out on high strength fibre-reinforced concretes. This paper reports on several aspects of the fresh and hardened properties of a range of such materials.
