ABSTRACT

Abstract This paper presents VicRoads’ experience since 1979 with geotextile reinforced sprayed bitumen chip seals for rehabilitating pavements to delay and/or inhibit the propagation of cracking, and as an initial treatment on pavements and bicycle paths. The paper discusses techniques, materials, equipment, typical applications and case studies. Keywords: Cracked pavement, fatigued asphalt, geotextiles, reinforced chip seal.
