ABSTRACT

Thermal cracking on site is determined by thermal and other early age deformations of the concrete on the one hand and by the restrain of these deformations on the other hand. Therefore the following two parameters have to be considered for the judgement of cracking on site: • the cracking sensitivity of a concrete mix, which depends on the con

stituents, the mix composition and the fresh concrete temperature, and • the boundary conditions (dimensions of the member, degree of

restraint, temperatures, etc.).
