ABSTRACT
This chapter is concerned with applications, other than the conventional pipelining of comminuted minerals, where hydraulic slurries are now being used or may be used in the foreseeable future. The applications covered are:
• vertical hoisting of minerals, • coal water mixtures, • coarse particle conveying, • waste disposal, • ship loading and unloading, • non-aqueous slurrying media, • three-phase mixtures in coal conversion technology.
