ABSTRACT
The rapid development of computers and computer programs during the last few decades has made possible stability analysis of complicated structures by use of numerical methods. Some of the commercially available systems are referenced in Section 1.2 and in the following only general remarks will be made regarding these methods. Examples given in the text will, of course, be based on the use of specific computer codes.
