ABSTRACT
As a result of the discovery of a new law in engineering mechanics, which governs flexural bending phenomena, it was possible to explain themechanism of vibrating fatigue failure. Because of the simultaneous creation of internal active and internal resisting forces in a flexural member, the combination of internal active vertical shear forces and corresponding internal active compression and tensile forces leads directly to diagonal cracking and failure of a vibrating member.
