ABSTRACT
A truly wild species of garlic (A. Sativum L.) is not known, but A. longicuspis Rgl. is considered to be the species most closely related to the cultivated crop and is considered to be garlic's wild ancestor. Since A. longicuspis is native to Central Asia, it is believed that garlic originated there (4).
