ABSTRACT
The objective of concrete mix design is to select the constituent materials, crushed fines or natural sand, coarse aggregate, Portland cement or composite cement and admixture, and to proportion the various constituents to produce concrete of the correct workability that, when hardened, is fit for its intended purpose. In addition, it must be possible to produce the concrete at a reasonable cost.
