ABSTRACT
Ovule-a seed plant structure formed on the placenta. It is the organ in which the processes of megasporogenesis, female gametophyte formation and fertilization take place and which, through complex transformations, gives rise to a seed. The ovule is a modified megasporangium of seed plants enclosed in sterile envelopes having a protective function.
