ABSTRACT
There are a number of operators arising in analysis that depend nonlinearly on a functional parameter, and for which this dependence is real-analytic when the parameter ranges through a suitably chosen function space. It sometimes happens that BMO is the "best" choice for this space. We shall investigate in this paper certain cases in which BMO is a natural candidate for this best choice.
