ABSTRACT

A 65-year-old inpatient became anxious, flushed, weak and short of breath within 30 minutes after receiving acetaminophen (1 gram). Other medications during hospitalization included flucloxacillin, calcitriol, calcium carbonate, and glicazide (no dosages provided). The patient had a previous history of a similar reaction four years prior to this event. Other symptoms during this episode also included dyspnea, hypotension (85150 mmHg), tachycardia (130 bpm), and inspiratory crackles. Treatment included oxygen and intravenous colloid.
