ABSTRACT
By presenting a large set of examples of the work carried out in different research institutions, this Part has illustrated the abundance and the diver sity of European activity in the field of numerical simulation of silo prob lems. The contributions show how numerical simulation addresses different complex phenomena occurring in silos and that it is undoubtedly a helpful tool for their understanding.
