ABSTRACT

For these experiments, two different types of cutting tool were used, coated and uncoated cemented carbides with positive and negative rake angle geometry’s to machine Aluminium-based 2618 MMC with 18% vol. of SiC as the reinforcement. The performance of the cutting tools was observed. The surface finish on newly machined surface were also recorded. The effects of depth-ofcut, feed rate, cutting speed and chip-breaker were also studied and analysed.
