ABSTRACT

In his book on Manufacturing Resource Planning, O.W.Wright devotes a chapter to education’s importance in the introduction of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. He quotes a case where 20% of the cost of installing a successful MRP system was accounted for by education. His conclusion is that the role of

education in the success, or failure of a MRP installation is not understood and therefore too often not enough is invested in this aspect.
