ABSTRACT

The practice of concurrent engineering (CE) allows a company closely to integrate it’s resources in order to achieve bring higher quality, lower-costs products to the market quicker than the conventional serial approach. Although this assertion has already been proved and is well documented, the literature available only provides isolated examples of the CE benefits (Watson, 1990; Syan et al, 1991, Business Week, 1992). The survey was carried out by mail questionnaires. Despite the low response rate associated with this approach, the method offered an economically viable method.
