ABSTRACT
The main objectives of this demonstration project wind energy converter for aerobic treatment of sewage were
to feed an existent biological sewage treatment plant with electrical energy from wind, using the MBB wind energy converter MONOPTEROS 15
to test the energy coproduction of the combined wind/diesel power supply unit MONOPTEROS 15 wind/diesel
to evaluate the economical data of an autonomous electrical power supply for water and sewage treatment units, which are very often located far away from electrical grids. High cabling costs can be avoided and conventional energy can be saved.
The chosen sewage treatment plant is located in the MBB-airfield Lemwerder and discharges the MBB plants of Lemwerder near Bremen.
