ABSTRACT
Paint is the material most commonly employed to protect steel, although in practice the term ‘paint’ covers many different materials with a range of properties. They are comparatively easy to apply with no limitation on the size of steelwork that can be treated. Furthermore, paint coatings can provide a decorative finish to steel structures.
