ABSTRACT

The Central Bank of Kenya Headquarters (CBK HQ) Complex comprises a main tower with 2 deep basements, 2 ground/mezzanine floors, 3 service floors, 29 typical office floors and 3 roof-observation/helipad floors. At the time of topping out in August 1996, it is the tallest building in Eastern Africa, reaching about 140 metres from the foundations to the rooftop helipad. The associated structures comprise a 7 storey banking wing and a 12 split-storey carpark wing. The total gross floor area is approximately 72,000 m2.
